Poplet Rattery

So a little bit about me and the lovely ladies here at Poplet Rattery. I originally fell in love with rats as a teenager when I got my first ever rats from a rescue. This started what was to become quite a journey with these beautiful little creatures.

I will admit I was clueless with these first rats and that my knowledge has progressed hugely over the last few years through the lovely breeders who provided me with my first ever breeder rats and introduced me to the world of rat showing. It has been through the North of England Rat Society that I have gotten to know many fantastic breeders and have been encouraged to breed myself.

My true breeding journey began after the Christmas show in 2018. I left the show with the permission and support from the breeders to go ahead with a couple of matings. And it was shortly after this that the first ever Poplet rats where born.

Although we are not currently NFRS registered, we are working towards it and should be registered by the end of the year.
